WordPress Website with Style

WordPress is emerging as THE backend software for real estate agent website development. And understandably so. WordPress is a free software (a price point that most people like), it offers flexibility in function for those with even little or no programming experience through plugins and widgets, it is search engine friendly by definition (WordPress is at its core a blogging platform), it is possible to be up and running on a WordPress site in a matter of hours, and WordPress allows for a template or custom look and feel to be applied to it. What is not for a real estate professional to love? As a result, Agent Applause will be highlighting some great WordPress agent websites that are out there.

We start with Krisstina Wise of The Good Life Team in Austin Texas, who, at the recent Inman Real Estate Connect Conference in New York, shared that 1/3 of her closings last year came from her website.  Krisstana has one of the strongest designs applied to a WordPress backend that I have found to date. Her site is a fully customized CSS solution that folds in great content that appeals to consumers: video, property search, market information, school details, her blog (to name a few). There are many clever calls to action targeting different market segments such as first time home buyers who are asked “Are you a Property Virgin?” and move up buyers who are asked “Got the Itch?”. And all of this is delivered on the WordPress platform. For agents who are new to WordPress, be forewarned that although this site is built on a free platform, there is a strong level of investment required to get the software to look this way. Regardless of the cost, the site is brilliant in demonstrating what is possible with the WordPress platform and is a glowing success in Realtor website examples.

I actually saw this website demonstrated live and in person. It is, indeed, a “killer app” when it comes to real estate websites of any kind, Let alone a WordPress site. You’re right to point out that the customization is not cheap but if it brings in the business, it’s worth it.

Stand alone blogs are super to “feed” and keep current content rich. Have a Blogger and WordPress platform and WP is so much more flexible, easy to develop with better SEO results.

I just stumbled across your blog…A big thanks to Agent Applause for the kudos. I launched this website in September after spending months designing the layout, every landing page, every call to action, etc. So, I really appreciate the recognition after the strategy and work required to produce it. I am working on Version 2 of my site right now which is even more exciting–so be on the look out!

Ken …thanks for the shout out …It was great meeting you at the RE Master Guild/Tribal conference last year. Hope to see you again this year.
